Tony Robbins Leadership Academy Review & Experience
Hey guys Stephanie here from projectlifemastery.com in this video I'm gonna share to you my experience of attending the Tony Robbins old Leadership Academy seminar now I just got back from the seminar last week it was in San Diego I've got my workbook right here and I'm sure you already know if you follow me that I'm a huge Tony.
Robbins fan he's impacted my life since I was 17 years old and who knows where my life would be today if it wasn't for that man and has worked I've modeled his beliefs his psychology as well as many other self-development gurus out there but I would say he's probably been that the biggest catalyst for changing in my life.
Over the years so I'm super grateful for anything that I learned from this person because he's really had an incredible impact on my life and also giving me an opportunity to share and teach and share some of the things I've learned from him and many other great minds around the world I've been to his unleash the power within seminar seven times now I've been.
A date with destiny I've read his books audio programs he's awesome okay if you have a chance to see him live at a seminar definitely do it because it will change her life now on to this seminar specifically this is a four-day event and it was in San Diego and I think they hold it once a year and unfortunately Tony Robbins isn't actually at the.
Seminar which I already knew about going into it and there's only about two videos the entire time over the four days of Tony Robbins and I kind of wish there was more of that because I get so much value and benefit listening to Tony Robbins himself even if saw on video it's great but the seminar was that was facilitated by Joseph McClendon the.
Third who was also a speaker at unleash the power within and he's a great speaker I love him he's very entertaining he ran the entire event really really well and there's a bunch of other guest speakers at the seminar also which some of them are really good and some of them are I just thought we're okay and I.
Think unfortunately it's very hard to compare to yourself to Tony Robbins because when you see Tony Robbins speak he's freaking amazing and so not that many people can actually compete with that and do what he does and so when you see him speak even on video you know he has a certain level of charisma energy fashioned a way of communicating and.
Sharing stories that there's not many speakers out there that can replicate that so that was really the main difference I found with the different speakers and just they're speaking styles and their ability just to deliver the information overall the information of the event was amazing.
I learned a lot about leadership and that's been a core focus of mine my life right now because I'm already a leader on YouTube I coach people I run businesses I have a team but I really want to expand my identity as a leader and really develop new skills and being the kind of person that can take on more and more responsibility and have more of.
An impact and that's what this seminar was about it was about you know forming the beliefs the identity and developing the skills of a leader so what can I share with you from the event well there's a lot one of the core themes were at the event the core thing that we learned was what Tony Robbins calls the 7 steps to creating lasting change and.
I'll try to remember them all for you and break down each one step one is basically to connect and understand the person's world so anytime that you're working with someone or you want to impact someone it's really important that you connect with them and understand the world connecting means you establish rapport you establish a.
Connection with them and they taught us a lot of great techniques much of which was NLP neuro-linguistic programming which I already knew and studied because I'm already an NLP practitioner but things like matching and mirroring a building rapport through two different techniques and strategies like that understanding the world was more so.
Understanding what they really want what challenge they have you know understanding their driving force you know what talked human means that they're trying to meet that they're driving their life their values their beliefs understanding them as much as possible so that you can have an impact on them the second step is to get.
Leverage and associate pain to not changing so this is really useful for yourself or anytime you're working with someone else in order to make a change you need to have leverage you have to make it a must to change it can't be a should it can't that you would like to change it has to be a must and by getting leverage.
Essentially what you're doing is you're associating pain to not changing and it's got to be immediate pain often times you know people want to quit smoking but they and they understand that it's painful and that's gonna maybe they're gonna die from that or get cancer but they don't change because the pain is off somewhere in the future it's.
Something that isn't immediate there's no urgency around it and it's off in the future so again you need to associate immediate pain massive unbearable pain to them not changing and then pleasure to them changing and so a great way to do that is just by asking questions you know why is this a must for you to change why is this important for you.
What what is it going to cost you in your life if you don't change all great questions doing questions are a great way to elicit change in yourself or in someone else so once you found that leverage and it's a must for the person then they're gonna be fully engaged to the rest of the process step three is to is to interrupt and annihilate the.
Pattern and so this is a purely NLP neuro-linguistic programming section right here where it's important to understand that we all run patterns and we all have what's called a triad which is every will every state that we have every emotion and every behavior has a certain physiology a certain focus and beliefs and certain language patterns as.
Well and so in order to change a limiting pattern a limiting belief a limiting behavior a limiting state you have to interrupt it and it's almost like you know if you have a CD and on that CD is burned a pattern but if you take a needle and you scratch it back and forth back and forth you've interrupted that pattern and you when.
You put that CD in the CD player it can't play because you've interrupted that pattern well in the same way you need to do the exact same thing to change whatever it is that you want to change so we learned a lot of great NLP techniques here things like scrambling the pattern which is basically you know there's a whole let's say you have a.
Certain belief of I'm not good enough you could have yourself or that person basically to see that in a Mickey Mouse voice really loud and run around in circles saying that you can say it really fast you could say it in Reverse you could say it while you're doing jump Jax you can see it in the Arnold Schwarzenegger voice and basically what.
You're doing is you're getting yourself to laugh and it's just so silly and crazy that you're interrupting that pattern so then when you think about that belief or you think about that feeling all of a sudden you can't go back to it so scrambling the pattern is powerful there's also collapsing anchors there's.
Also the swish pattern' a lot of NLP stuff was taught at this seminar because a lot of what Tony Robbins teaches especially early on in his career and how he impacts people a lot of it is NLP which he learned from Richard Bandler John grinder it's been around since the 70s now so a lot of the things he learned from that as well as.
Some other sources as well which is great and some of it that he's developed which is totally cool I love the fact that he's he's sharing things that he has learned that has made a difference for him and he's also putting his own unique twist on a lot existence as well but if it works and it's effective then use it so that was step three step four.
Is to let me see if I can remember what this is without looking at my notes I think step four is to find the problem in solvable terms so you have to define this might have been step three I'm not sure I might beginning mixed up I'll actually maybe let me actually refer to my notes just so I don't mess up this video for you guys okay yeah I'm right.
So step four is to find the problem in solvable terms so basically you you know many of us we make the problem so big that's unsolvable and so when you you need to make sure that whatever your challenge is whatever is you want to change you have to define it in a way that it is solvable knowing that if I do this or this happens then I can overcome.
This and salt solve it and and also just making it to a point where you believe that you can change this you can solve this which is a very important piece okay next is to access empowering resources okay so now you're creating the new pattern of what you want the new try out the new physiology the new focused or new language patterns the new.
Beliefs that you need to have for the change that you want because once you've interrupted a pattern once you've gotten rid of it there's an opening for something new there's an opening for a new opportunity and being that you can out insert or take on that can now serve you in your life and so that part it's it's accessing those.
Empowering resources those empowering States physiology beliefs whatever the person needs at this point to make change make the change last okay now step six and they go by memory is to condition the change so anytime you make a change we have to condition it you can't just expect okay I I did this I went to this seminar I changed this.
Today and then that's it you know I went a day today without smoking or today I went to the gym and that's it it doesn't work that way we have to condition ourselves the more that you condition yourself the stronger that gets because there's nerve pathways in your brain there's neurons that the more that you repeat something and you reinforce it.
The stronger that it gets and it becomes a new pattern a new habit in your life so reinforcing him and just doing it again and again and again and again is what's also gonna make it last and the last step step seven is to test it so anytime you make a change you need to test it so if you're afraid of heights and you're working on yourself you make.
The change or conditioning it then you need to test it you need to go to the top of the building you know go skydiving or something like that do something to test it to see if that fear still comes up or that limiting pattern same thing with smoking then you would want to put yourself in an environment and see that if you still have those.
Urges those cravings those temptations to go back to that okay so those are the seven steps that we learned which was great and what I really loved about this seminar to like as I mentioned a lot of this was neuro linguistic programming which I've already been certified for and a lot of it was repetitive for me and some of it was like just dumb down.
NLP like I've learned the more dense version of the entire NLP model but what I liked about it is one there was dumb down they made it really really simple that anybody could could do it and apply it but also that Tony Robbins took NLP and then combined it with all these other steps as well and made it into a step-by-step practical way and I think.
That's one of the best things that Tony Robbins has done is he has this amazing gift of simple flying things and making it very practical and make it very entertaining and engaging to learn a lot of these things so I really appreciate what he's done there and it's really helped me a lot by having a seven-step model that I.
Can go through for myself or other people that I'm working with which is really amazing as well so that's what I really love that about the seminar um what else can I share with you I mean there's so much but I'll share with you some of the guest speakers that were at the seminar one was Mark Devine who is a former Navy SEAL and he wrote the book.
The way of the seal and he also created something called steel fit and I was really impressed by him I learned a lot about Navy SEALs and how they trained and I was really amazed to see how much a Navy SEAL develops himself in all different areas so to be a Navy SEAL they focus not just on physical training but a lot of mental emotional and.
Spiritual as well you know they have to learn how to breathe properly and he shared with us something called box breathing which is maybe something I'll share few guys in another video positivity all these things that they learn as Navy SEALs visualization techniques all really important things that help them as Navy SEALs so I was.
Really impressed to see how much self development work is involved in being a Navy SEAL another great speaker was Robin I forget her last name but she's one of the top adventure racers in the world she talked a lot about teamwork working as a team and going through adversity another one was this woman Jan I forget her last.
Name as well but she is one of the top body language experts in the world taught us a lot about how to read people how to tell when someone's lying she had a lot of great information that was really really useful let's see there was an NLP specialist as well there's a lot of great speakers there so it's tough to remember everything I'll share one last.
Thing that really impacted me that I really enjoyed Tony Robbins has something called the breadth of leader leadership and a depth of leadership and I'm actually gonna refer to my notes for this one because I don't want to I don't want to butcher it okay so he says that leadership mastery can be defined in two ways.
The depth of one's mastery and the Brett also known as the scale of leadership and so first I'll share with you the depth okay so level there's four levels okay have the depth of leadership number one is that in the moment you can change from an any undesired state to create a shift in the Triad so an emotional.
Change behavior change action or a moment change this is a depth this is this is basically you being able to impact yourself or someone else okay and be able to create that desired result that's the first step of leadership level two is create an influencer that it creates lasting change in a challenging context through time and.
This requires conditioning of the new triad so basically level two is that you cannot only change yourself or someone else but it lasts over the long term okay that's level two level three is create an influencer that shifts the person's whole life across multiple contexts and time so expanded model of the world their.
Driving force or guiding force their fuel of choice so now you're not just making an impact on yourself or someone else's behavior or state now you're creating and it's lasting but now you're creating a huge a larger impact that changes their entire model of the world their entire life so it goes even deeper and further beyond that initial change.
That you're trying to make okay and level four is that you could influence someone to influence others and this is the really cool part that I love for a greater good okay and these are people like Jesus Gandhi Muhammad Mother Teresa Nelson Mandela people like that at that level of leadership where you're not just.
Having a change on someone where you're just helping them change their state or their behavior but now you're helping them to become a leader and so that they go ahead and they influence other people and there's you know a good example this was Tony Robbins Tony Robbins wasn't even at the seminar and she said he's having an impact he's having to change.
Because he's influenced other leaders other speakers to now show up and run his event for him and speak on his behalf and create a change so that's level four of your depth of leadership and I want to ask you where are you showing up right now what is your level of leadership can you even lead yourself.
Can you lead someone else are you at level 1 level 2 level 3 level 4 you always want to try to move up further up to level 4 because that's when you have leverage on your side and you can create a real impact a lasting impact that serves the greater good so I thought I thought that was really really cool that I learned from the seminar now.
Let's go into the breadth of leadership which is your scale there's 4 steps to this as well four levels so scale one is that you can influence yourself consistently for a higher good ok many of us many people aren't even at that level yet you know they can't even prove such change in themselves or influence them influence themselves but you have.
To start there's that you can influence yourself scale number two level two is that you can consistently influence one person to your current level of depth now you're a great parent a friend or a mentor okay and it says here that you can only influence someone to the level of depth that you have mastered okay so depending on where you are in your life.
You know level two is you being able to influence someone to get to where you're at okay the level of mastery that you have in whatever area that you're at okay and you know I think about this for Kindle publishing for me because I've worked with a lot of people now in Kindle publishing they have gone to my level of success with Kindle and even.
Surpassed that and so I'm really proud of that the fact that I've been able to lead people coach people mentor people provide training for people that have been able to go on and have it that that kind of scale where they've gone to a certain level that's similar to my own so and beyond my own which is really cool level 3 you can influence many.
People simultaneously and now you're a great teacher manager leader of groups okay so now this is where you can manage and lead a group of people okay uh and when I think about this in my life you know that's what I do on YouTube that's what I do right now in this video that's what I'm doing right now with my products my courses and there's.
A group of people right now that are watching this you know putting on events seminars that have done as well it's leading and influencing not just an individual but a group so now you can reach many many more people than you ever could just by one on your own and the last level skill four is that you can now continue to influence many.
People without your needing to be there at whatever level of depth that you have mastered okay so this is really cool as well being able to have an impact and you're not even there and that's also what Tony Robbins has done excuse me with this program as well and it's the ultimate form of leverage and that's what I'm trying to do here.
With these YouTube videos is when I create this video this video is now on the internet forever forever this could impact people you know far after I die for the next hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years who knows the impact that it can have and there's been a lot of great things like that that I've done now a lot of great books a lot of great.
You know courses and and and programs and videos and music and movies things like that have had a lasting impact over time and you always want to think that way in terms of leverage and scaling yourself to that that level four level because that's when you can have that lasting impact if you look at someone like Tupac you know the rapper or Steve.
Jobs you know these are people that are passed away yet they're still influencing people you know Michael Jackson people are still listening to his music people they're still even making money as well Michael Jackson's still making money Tupac is still making money and he's not even around so that's the ultimate level of scale that you.
Want to achieve is leveraging yourself so that you can have that massive impact so that was my experience the event those are some of the things that I learned I highly recommend to go if you have a chance to in terms of the cost that was around I think $3,000 $4,000 I can't exactly remember I signed out for a number of seminars recently but it's.
Not cheap but it's great seminar great for people that want to step up in their lives want to become a better leader want to help the greater good and and make that difference and one last thing we'll share forgot to share this at the end of the seminar you're working in teams by the way – you're working with a lot of great.
Teams and it's a really fun event – but at the end of the seminar I got this little certificate here and I'll read this to you it says that by graduating from Leadership Academy you have proven that you're among the true leaders those unique individuals who embrace empowering beliefs and guide others to do the same you have mastered the.
Essential skills and tools of leadership and you are to be honored for your lifelong commitment to influence of thoughts feelings and behaviors of those that you lead for the greater good so this right here is an accomplishment this right here is something that I'll look back upon and feel proud that and I went through a training like this and I.
Became a better person a better leader for my family my community the world my following so it's pretty cool so I want to encourage you you know whether you go to this summit or not this doesn't really matter but to think of yourself as a leader because right now you do matter to someone out there you do matter and right now how they're being.
In your life is an example to someone else and I want you to think about that about how you're showing up because that's one of the best ways that you can become a better leader number one understand that you are a leader right now your influence influencing someone whether it's your child your family your brother your.
Sister your friends your people that you know see you on Facebook you're following your customers you're a leader right now you're influencing you matter to someone and keep that in mind and really think about how you're showing up because how you show up every day is an example to others they're watching you other people watch you and you're either.
A warning or an example either a warning of what not to be ordering an example of what's possible so if you focus on and growing being the best that you can be achieving success in your life doing great things helping other people then that's going to inspire other people to do the same and I think that's one of the simplest things that everyone can do.
As a leader to have an impact right now so live your life step up become a leader and take your life to the next level help others help the greater good so thank you for watching this video I'll have links below to the seminar and a blog post as well make sure to subscribe for more videos like this and I'll talk to.
You soon you
