let us pray for a moment
our father who art in heaven heaven
shall be your name
your kingdom come your will
and forgive us our debts as we
also have forgiven our debtors
and lead us not into temptation but
deliver us and i love the way it says
from the
evil one okay deliver us from the
evil one for thine
is the kingdom and the power and the
glory
for ever and ever amen and so when we
look at
the power of prayer prayer is a
conversation between you and god
everything in our lives changed the
moment
that we not only pray but we pray
in a conversation with him and then we
go
out and take what he has given us and we
apply it there’s a classic hymn
that i need you to know it tells you
that
your hope should be built on nothing
less
than the blood of jesus and his
righteousness
don’t dare to trust the sweetest frame
but holy lean
on jesus name on christ a solid rock
that’s where you should stand because
all
of the ground is sinking sand
now ask yourself where’s your hope
what’s your hope built on what ground do
you stand on
my hope my hope is in the living and
active word of god
it offers hope for the sick hope for
broken relationships
hope for the center and hope for the
struggling believer
the certainty of your hope should be
based on the word of god
because in the beginning was the word
and the word was with god and the word
was
god that’s what makes it so powerful
more powerful than a two-edged sword
so when in doubt be grounded in the word
of god
when you’re feeling hopeless stand on
the word of god
that’s the foundation we ought to have
never giving up never losing hope
because christ will never leave us
nor forsake us there’s two voices that
three voices thank you god we hear in
our head it’s our subconscious mind
our conscious mind and then believe it
or not there’s the holy spirit
what happens a lot of times we don’t
know which one is which
as you start to activate a very
aggressive prayer life
and you stay consistent and you step out
on faith
you’re going to be able to know the
difference you’re going to be able to
know the voice of your lord if jesus
who was god who manifested himself as
man
had to go and take time to pray what
makes
us think that we’re able to go without
it as well
see the reason why jesus did that was to
give us
the way was to show us what we needed to
do
was to show us that when you’re running
the race and when you’re my child
when you’re out there doing things and
accomplishing things that there is gonna
be a time
where you’re gonna need to come to me
where you’re gonna need to kneel to me
that you’re gonna need to have me touch
you have me give you the words
have me give you the direction have me
tell you what to do
next have me give you back hope when you
feel defeated
have me tell you the word that you need
to hear
so that you can get the power again to
go out and fight but if you’re out there
fighting and you don’t have a prayer
life and you’re not out there
doing if you’re out there doing things
to even intercede for people your family
your kids and all those things
but you’ve not tapped into a prayer life
with god
then you’re not will and power you’re
fighting
you’re fighting but you ain’t doing
nothing
if anything you may be causing more
issues
you may be causing a downright mess
you’re not wielding god’s power in you
we have to remember to call on god
always
call on him when times are tough but
call on him when times are good too
so what do you do when you are in a
season of peace and blessings
you call on god you thank him and you
praise him
how about when you’ve lost everything
when you’ve been disappointed or feel
rejected
you still call on god regardless of the
season you are in
god is still god
see i love the old testament i would
have loved to
to kind of be around in there because
man god was just doing miracles left and
right
left and right left and right showing
his majesty man i would have loved to
been around when jesus was walking the
earth
oh my god can you imagine the faith that
we would have if we would have been
around in that time
to watch what he was doing to see him
command
to see him touch lazarus and his ways up
my god imagine what our faith would be
well god says i’m still on the throne
i’ve not stopped who i am you’re still
my children and i’m still god
how do we get that kind of miracles
that kind of faith
we’re real we’re human lord we are
vulnerable father god we are weak
lord we need for you to manifest
miracles like you did when
jesus was walking your son and you did
in the old testament lord
we need that more than anything right
now lord manifest those miracles in my
life lord
manifest that belief lord to see you
walk it in my life
do it in my life see you talking to me
it means stepping out on faith even
though i’m scared to believe it’s you
and you turn around and do it watch what
that’ll do
we’ll have a revolution happening in the
world if we were able to do that
when we pray according to god’s will
all things are possible but perhaps our
problem when we pray
is that we often put limitations on what
god has the power to do
in our lives that problem may appear to
be too big
that circumstance appears to be too
great
that situation seems too sticky to get
out of
but let me remind you there is
nothing too big for the lord there is
nothing beyond the scope of his power
you know prayer i love it which is
one of the most powerful weapons of all
is that in matthew 6
9-13 i love that when his disciples say
jesus teaches how another way to pray
like he’d already showed them how
he’d already been the witness my god he
was doing it all over but
you could tell that it just wasn’t
enough for them they’re like jesus show
us again
it was amazing to me that in that moment
when they asked him
jesus give us another prayer his prayer
was first
acknowledging his father in heaven
the next is he prayed hallow be thy name
he prayed his name then he says your
kingdom come
come lord may your will be done

like it is in heaven but here on earth
father god give to me the daily bread
that i need today to
survive today lord
forgive me of my sins
but lord forgive me of my sins
so that we can forgive
those who sin against us and father god
do not lead me into temptation lord keep
me strong father god
guide me speak to me protect me convict
me lord
do not allow me to go be led into
temptation father god
and jesus and lead us and deliver us
from the evil one thy
is the kingdom you are
the power come on
you deserve the glory
forever and ever after
amen this is the prayer
this is the prayer that jesus answered
his disciples
when they said lord please tell us how
should we pray
how should we acknowledge you lord how
do we get
lord the ability to be able to not only
praise and worship you lord
but to know how to pray in a way that we
stay forever connected to your lord
and that your will and your guidance be
done in us lord
and that we stay pure to you father god
how do we do it and that was jesus’s
answer
what’s that prayer friends
when we pray we need to pray in
faith and we need to expect our powerful
god to do infinitely more
exceedingly abundantly above all that we
ask or think or imagine
prayer is both our duty and our
honoring of god not because god
needs us to validate his existence but
because prayer brings us closer to god
prayer allows us to open our hearts to
the one who
already knows what we need before we
ask it so if you’ve been struggling to
pray

pushing in prayer god will meet you
at your point of need but pray in faith
because faith will add power to your
prayer
