everything you’re going through it’s
preparing you for what you asked God for
you just gotta quit trippin why are you
in the process because the process is
necessary you may not see it now but
when you get you on the other side of it
you’re gonna see exactly why it went
that way and you gonna be okay with it
there are a lot of people who are biting
their fingers and fear that they might
lose their jobs but there are few people
who have decided within themselves I’m
going to make it in order to make it
stick
go brick by brick one of the things
that’s interesting about having big
dreams and big goals is that oftentimes
some people aren’t waiting to be cut
some people are moving on their own
because they feel within themselves I’ve
got what it takes to make it you have to
understand that your losses and that’s
why I want you to look at them every day
because your losses fuel you in a way
the way that you’re winning can never
feel you most people go through life
never discovering what their talents are
most people never develop their talents
they have skills and abilities but if
you don’t nurture them if you don’t
develop them they will never serve you
your gifts can take you many places if
you develop your gifts the fact that the
goals and the dreams that we have are so
big it makes them really really
difficult to achieve because you spend
so much time thinking about how big the
idea or the dream is that you become
paralyzed in the moment around taking
action they’re not afraid about tomorrow
because of how they see themselves
because of what they feel that they
deserve because of what they feel that
they can create for themselves because
these people have decided as they look
at the future as they look at themselves
there’s a way where there’s a will
there’s a way for me to begin to create
a way out of no way when you are synced
up with life life just gives to you most
of us don’t like to do those things that
come too easy to us I’ve always loved to
talk to people I decided taking this
advice to develop my skills as a speaker
and my gift has developed and developed
and has taken me many places you have
something that you brought to the
universe and that if you decide that my
life deserves my developing this what I
do well and becoming the best at it and
mastering myself and seeing what I have
within me you take an L you take the
right L you like I’m gonna be very
cautious on that next move I may if
you’re smart so number one every single
day I want you to go to bed at night
stop playing games and be honest about
the wins and losses so I always remember
where I came from I remember all the
arrows I took because when you forget
the arrows that’s when you like you big
and bad I remember if you decide to drop
to your buckets where you are and
develop your gifts I grant you you’ll
never ever be without I grant you that
your gifts were to take you places that
literally amazed you I grant you that if
you began to work to develop your gifts
you develop a strong sense of happiness
you’ll get a larger vision of yourself
all of us in life have things we want we
don’t get what we want we get what we
have to have we all get what we tolerate
in ourselves and other people but when
you no longer willing to tolerate
something that’s when your life changes
because part of beginning to get a
larger vision of yourself all of us need
some area of our lives where we can have
a feeling of competence that people know
and they think about this area that’s
something you do that you eat and sleep
that and that you do that you do that
people know it and you know it and you
know that you know that you know this if
you don’t know anything else you know
this so you’ve got to work on it we’re
try so hard in our lives
to fit in we try to fit into certain
groups certain frats certain sororities
you know among certain friends yet the
people we idolize our most are the ones
that stand out but when you’re prepared
there is no fear there is no fear of
failure okay because even if you’ve
walked out of something and you feel
like you failed at it your preparation
is so strong
that you’re gonna take that failure and
turn it into the outcome you desire and
most people stop at failure okay we’ve
all failed at things I’m gonna continue
to fail at stuff but it’s the most
powerful tool you can use but it all
depends on how you use it you know we
talked about it in relentless okay a
scalpel okay in the hands of an
individual it can do unbelievable damage
in the hands of a professional of a
doctor it saves lives so it’s the same
thing with failure it’s how you use it
it’s that drive inside of you okay it’s
what we talk about the dark side the
dark side is filled with failure but
it’s the fuel that burns you like
something that’s never burned inside you
before you can get defined easily by
other people’s perceptions of you my
whole life I was convinced when I was a
young man I was convinced I was a loser
absolutely convinced until I started
getting really good at martial arts I
never thought I was good at anything
I just had a very low self-esteem and I
was limiting myself by what I thought
were other people’s opinions of me this
is when I was a really young kid and I
didn’t figure this out and I was like in
my 30s but I think that you you
absolutely can be limited by your
perceptions of someone’s definitions of
you but you can break through that stuff
that is that’s what you break through
with discipline that’s where you break
through with hardwork and concentration
and focus and that’s why it’s so
important to have like either a
discipline or an art or something that
you’re trying to create or something
that you’re really focusing on because
if you don’t have like a point of focus
as a human I think it’s very hard to get
through this life and have an
appreciation for true struggle because
our physical struggle with what our
bodies are designed for the cavemen the
10,000 plus years ago our bodies are
still designed for that that physical
struggle doesn’t really manifest itself
when you’re sitting in front of a
cubicle you know in front of a computer
and a cubicle in this unnatural position
all day I think the whole the whole
situation is very confusing for the
human body and we don’t get the tests
that we need in order to have what you
would call personal sovereignty so
you’ve got to impose those tests on
yourself
the one thing that discipline definitely
does help you with is it helps you get
things done and when you get things done
when you actually do things you you you
have more success if you have more
success sometimes a big part of success
is just not being lazy and just doing it
yeah just yeah that’s like 90 percent of
it is just showing up get there and
start working like you’re not gonna feel
perfect every day if I felt if I only
worked out when I felt good I’d be a
theft because there’s a lot of days I’m
gonna do it if it’s pretty much the same
with everybody that if that actually
gets good at something that you you get
there’s got to be those days you push
through and they’re they’re probably
gonna be more numerous than the days you
don’t and so the benefit of discipline
in my eyes has always been that through
discipline I get things done I always
tell my say that I’m like the most lazy
disciplined person I know because I
don’t want to do it yeah but I always do
make a damn schedule and stick to it
okay so what’s the rule with the
schedule it’s not a bloody prison that’s
the first thing that people do wrong is
say well I don’t like to have follow a
schedule it’s like well what kind of
schedule are you setting up well I
should I have to do this then I have to
do this then I have to do this you know
and then I just go play video games
because who wants to do all these things
that I have to do
it’s like wrong set the damn schedule up
so that you have the day you want that’s
the trick it’s like okay I’ve got
tomorrow if I was gonna set it up so it
was the best possible day I could have
practically speaking what would it look
like well then you schedule that and
obviously there’s a bit of
responsibility that’s going to go along
with that
because if you have any sense one of the
things that you’re gonna insist upon is
that at the end of the day you’re not in
worse shape than you were that then at
the beginning of the day right cuz
that’s a stupid day if you have a bunch
of those in a row you just dig you know
you dig yourself a hole and then you
bury yourself in it’s like sorry that’s
just not a good strategy it’s a bad
strategy
so maybe 20% of your day has to be
responsibility and obligation or maybe
it’s more than that depending on how far
behind you are but even that you can you
can ask yourself okay well I’ve got
these responsibilities I have to
schedule the damn things in what’s the
right ratio of responsibility to reward
and you can ask yourself that just like
you’d negotiate with someone who is
working for you it’s like okay you gotta
work tomorrow okay so I want you to work
tomorrow and you might say okay well
what are you gonna do for me that makes
it likely that I’ll work for you well
you could ask yourself that you know
maybe you do an hour of responsibility
and then you play a video game for 15
minutes I don’t know whatever turns your
crank man but you know you have to
negotiate with yourself and not
tyrannize yourself like you’re
negotiating with someone that you care
for that you would like to be productive
and have a good life and and that’s how
you make the schedule it’s like and then
you look at the day and you think well
if I had that day that’d be good great
you know I knew you’re useless and
horrible so you’ll probably only hit it
with about 70 percent accuracy but that
beats the hell out of zero right and if
you hit it even with 50 percent accuracy
another rule is well aim for 51 percent
the next week or 50 and a half percent
for God’s sake or because you’re gonna
hit that position where things start to
loop back positively and spiral you
upward
